BEYOND OUR BORDERS
ABLAZE! Beyond Our Borders Committee was established to raise awareness about worldwide mission needs and also to organize a mission trip to Guatemala in 2010. This group of hard working members are finding interesting ways to raise money for the Guatemalan mission trip and other world missions. They started with a Fine Art Auction with contributions from local community artisans as well as our very own artist Pastor Harry who does amazing oil paintings! This event was followed up by a ‘country store’ during our fall harvest ham supper which soon was set up full time to sell quality crafts, home baking and preserves provided by our talented members and also Fair Trade items from Canadian Lutheran World Relief . Response has been good as Christmas is just around the corner. |
